Plugging Wells

Application includes oilfield and disposal wells being plugged for state and/ or federal regulatory compliance.

Many wells have high capacity and high volume thief zones due to induced or natural fractures and/ or high permeability formation rocks. These zones can cause problems when it comes time to plug the wells. An SPI gel plug set in the formation near the wellbore can provide support to cement in those wells during the plugging process. This allows the cement to set with a sufficient top depth for regulatory approval. This avoids expensive multiple cement jobs and re-testing.
